Professor Matt Vernon started training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2007. He is a Jean Jacques Machado / Christian Derr black belt and a well decorated BJJ competitor. Professor Vernon holds a professional BJJ record of 4-0 alongside a vast assortment of 1st & 2nd place medals scored in esteemed BJJ tournaments such as IBJJF, AGF, and NAGA. His love for Jiu Jitsu inspired him to open up Primate Jiu Jitsu in 2015. He is currently sponsored by American Grappling Federation, Fighting for Autism, and Ground Culture.
Sensei Hossein Kalami is a 3rd Degree Judo Black Belt with over 35 years of experience in martial arts. He is a highly ranked international competitor in Judo and Sambo having scored National Championship titles in Judo, Sambo (2x), Kung Fu, Shuai Jiao, and Grecco Roman Wrestling. He is also a former World Team member in Sambo and a 4x Judo State Champion.
Aaron Wolfe has been training Muay Thai for close to 7 years. He holds a stellar amateur kickboxing record of 6-3 on top of earning a USMTA World Title and a Kick Midwest Regional Title. Aaron is also Level 1 & Level 2 teaching certified through the Thai Boxing Association under Master Chai and currently serves in the National Guard and Tulsa police force.
Allen Nguyen has several years of experience in BJJ, Muay Thai, and wrestling. He is a competitive athlete with several victories under his belt. Allen brings a diverse wealth of knowledge, skill, and personality to Primate BJJ!
Kendall Vernon first stumbled into Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2015 and immediately fell in love with the sport. Since she began her training, she has medaled in multiple BJJ tournaments such as IBJJF and AGF, including scoring double golds at the 2016 AGF Nationals. She won her first pro submission-only superfight shortly after getting her blue belt in 2017.
